| Repertoire | Students are required to perform from memory three pieces representing three of
the five style periods, Baroque, Classical, Romantic, Impressionist and
Contemporary. The total time is not to exceed 20 minutes.
Students must supply a legal copy of the music to be performed. |
| Description | The Beverly Soule Memorial Scholarship competition is open to high school
seniors studying with a member of the Eugene District OMTA, whether or not the
applicant plans to continue music studies after graduation.
The adjudication will take place in a neutral setting with an adjudicator selected from outside of the Eugene District. The adjudicator will give written comments to each student in a format of his/her choosing. The performance will be judged on overall quality with attention to:
One award of $250 will be given, with Honorable Mentions also selected. The winner will be invited to the OMTA meeting in June to perform and receive the award. |
