The March program will be presented by veteran piano pedagogue Deborah Rambo Sinn. Deborah is the author of the acclaimed book, Playing Beyond the Notes: A Pianist Guide to Musical Interpretation. In this workshop, Deborah will help pianists understand concrete ways to apply interpretive concepts to their own playing and help teachers to teach interpretation to their students.

Here is the program for the masterclass:

  • "Sonatina in G Major, Op. 151 No. 1, Andantino Cantabile" by Anton Diabelli (performed by Jasper Stinson, student of Ayden Katterman)

  • "Scherzo in A Minor " by Carl Maria von Weber (performed by Gwen Addington, student of Genevieve Mason)

  • "Für Elise" by Ludwig van Beethoven (performed by Sophie, student of Paul Safar)

  • "Prelude in C-sharp Minor Op. 11, No. 10" by Alexander Scriabin (performed by Pearl Carter, student of Alexis Gibbons)

PLEASE NOTE: The location has been changed to First Congregational Church (FCC) because the parking there is more convenient than at UO. The workshop and masterclass will be in the chapel at the church.
