Registration and Fee
Registration is through Regista, which is accessed through the OMTA website, Teachers should log in to their OMTA account, then go to your teacher dashboard (under Teacher Resources) The fee for all levels is $20.00. PLEAE NOTE: you must register and pay for all your students at the same time. Registrations are locked at the deadline and none can be added afterwards. Please also note that the student fees can be paid online.
Music
Music must be written by the student composer. The teacher will need to submit a copy (.pdf preferred) ofthe student’s manuscript, and a recording of the piece. Compositions may be in any style and for any instrumentation. All participants will receive a Certificate of Participation and big congratulations following the recital. More detailed instructions will be on the entry form.
Multimedia performances are welcomed. Please inform the chairs about this or any other performance that needs special attention, or if you have any questions.
Adjudication
Our adjudicator is Ted Clifford. The Composition Festival is a non-competitive event, but students whose compositions show a particular merit will be awarded Honored Composer status and will be invited to participate in the State Composition Festival held in June.
Adults are welcome
Please note that there is a category for Adults for this event. Adult compositions may be selected as notable and included in the final (Statewide) honors recital.
Memorization
Memorization for the performance is encouraged but not required.
